As the title says, I need a new transistor for my Neck board on the chassis. Where would the best place to buy one be? Fry's They carry NTE www. You can go to the NTE website and download the cross reference software to see which one of their parts is a decent replacement. RJ How should I figure out the value of my Transistors?

Your 2SA is nowhere to be found though What I would like to know is, what values can you fudge on when it comes to finding a good replacement?

We ubiquitously substitute caps with higher voltages all the time, and sometimes higher capacitance like in power supplies.

I'm sure it depends on the application, but I would think there is at least a spec or two where it is probably OK to go a little higher or lower , but I'm not sure about frequency. Here's a table which gives the MPS as closest sub. Hope this helps! My first order, I ordered 4 2SC's because that's what got me to the magic number, and I figured I might as well grab some spares. Luckily or unluckily my last order was passed the figure by quite a bit.
